European Language Label 2025: European and national recognition

The European Language Label 2025 was awarded at two notable ceremonies, one international and one national.

European ceremony in Brussels

On December 8 and 9, ETIC_Algarve participated in the 2025 European Innovative Teaching Award Event, organized by the European Commission in Brussels, Belgium.
The theme of this edition was “Education for Citizenship – Participation in Democratic Life, Common Values, and Civic Engagement,” bringing together educators and institutions that are shaping the future of European education through best practices and collaborative projects.

II Erasmus+ Gala in Lisbon

On December 10, the school attended the III Erasmus+ Gala, organized by the National Agency Erasmus+ Education and Training in Lisbon.
During the event, entities and institutions were recognized for the impact of their projects within the Erasmus+ Program, with ETIC_Algarve once again receiving the European Language Label, now at the national level.

A historic milestone for ETIC_Algarve and for the Algarve

This award marks the first time that ETIC_Algarve has taken on the coordination of a European Cooperation and Innovation Project, reinforcing the Algarve’s role as a creative and innovative hub in European education.

This recognition validates the work carried out by the school in creating educational solutions with real social impact and aligned with European values.

What is the Erasmus+ TECC++US 2.0 Project?

The Erasmus+ TECC++US 2.0 Project aims to transform language learning and promote social inclusion through technology, using a complete educational ecosystem that integrates:

  • An intuitive app for language learning
  • Digital and printable educational games
  • Support materials for teachers
  • Training plans certified by SIPE
  • An innovative graphic identity, developed in the Algarve

Based on the EPCL language, the use of pictograms, and gamification strategies, the project helps break down language barriers, promotes more inclusive educational environments, and supports teachers in creating accessible and universal classrooms.

Inclusive language learning accessible to all

Available in 10 languages—Portuguese, English, Spanish, Italian, Greek, Bulgarian, Polish, Slovenian, Romanian, and Ukrainian—TECC++US 2.0 stood out for the inclusion of Ukrainian, a decision of enormous relevance in the current European context, reinforcing support for displaced and vulnerable populations.

Although initially developed for people with special educational needs, the project has proven to be effective for children, young people, adults, and diverse educational contexts, regardless of age or learning level.

European partners of the Erasmus+ TECC++US 2.0 Project

The project was developed in partnership with institutions from eight European countries, strengthening international cooperation:

Continuity, impact, and next steps

TECC++US 2.0, developed under Erasmus+ and co-funded by the European Union, continues the initial TEC++US project (2018–2020), now presenting a more robust ecosystem adapted to multiple audiences.
