ETIC_Algarve celebrates the 45th anniversary of the Constitution with Afonso Dias

Born out of the need to promote a constitution that has been in existence for almost half a century, but also as a way of raising awareness of essential aspects of the Constitution of the Portuguese Republic, particularly with regard to the provisions dedicated to Fundamental Rights and Duties, the project “Nascemos para Voar – 45 anos da Constituição Portuguesa” (We Were Born to Fly – 45 years of the Portuguese Constitution) brings together the talent of Afonso Dias with various entities in the region, with the aim of promoting conscious and participatory citizenship.

Materializing in a collection of 36 videos, with 6/8 minutes – composed by reading part of an article of the Constitution, a poem and/or a song, interpreted by Afonso Dias (creator of the project). Throughout the 36 episodes dozens of articles of the Basic Law will be visited and we will bring dozens of poems and songs.

Afonso Dias confides that there were many reasons that led him to create this project, “among which stands out the fact that I voted in favor of our Constitution on April 2, 1976, as a Constituent Deputy, but also because of the cultural work to which he has always been dedicated and which is largely intended to serve the students of the schools of all levels of education that I often visit, I could not fail to mark this anniversary,” work that was distinguished with praise by the Civil House of the President of the Republic.

This project promoted by Afonso Dias with the Modos e Olhares association has as partners, in addition to ETIC_Algarve, the municipality of Faro and the Regional Directorate of culture of the Algarve.

ETIC_Algarve is the partner responsible for the technical support at the level of audio and video capture and editing, in which it involved students of the music creation, production and sound techniques course Raphael Ruescas and Gustavo Leu and the former student of the Film and TV Production course Sofia Fiore.
