GameCrit is an Erasmus+ project that develops digital games to promote critical thinking among young people, addressing topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Fake News, and Sustainability. ETIC_Algarve leads the creation of games and digital management of the project, with international partners.

As a technology partner in this project, ETIC_Algarve’s mission is to create games that address relevant and contemporary issues such as Artificial Intelligence, Fake News, Hate Speech, Stereotypes, Inclusion, Migration, Renewable Energy and Conscious Consumption. The aim of these games is to promote the development of new skills in students and encourage them to reflect on these topics in an interactive and innovative way. In addition, ETIC_Algarve is also responsible for creating the project’s visual identity and managing its digital platforms.

The GameCrit Project: An International Initiative to Transform Education
The GameCrit Project is an Erasmus+ initiative involving seven European partners:
- ETIC_Algarve (Portugal) – Responsible for game creation and digital platform management.
- ASSOCIAZIONE N.E.T. (Padua, Italy) – NGO dedicated to social inclusion and support for people at risk of exclusion.
- IES LEGIO VII (León, Spain) – Primary and secondary school.
- Peyami Safa Ortaokulu (Bursa, Turkey) – Secondary school.
- Pasvalys Lėvens (Pasvalys, Lithuania) – Secondary school.
- Project Vitae (Stargard, Poland) – Company specialising in educational consultancy.
- Platon M.E.P.E. (Katerini, Greece) – Secondary school.
Vision for the Future: Transforming Education with Innovative Tools
Nuno Ribeiro, Director of ETIC_Algarve, shares his vision for the project: “GameCrit is a project that aims to transform traditional teaching, using the most innovative tools for students. Our contribution goes far beyond the creation of games. We are developing a new educational methodology, where students can learn, reflect and act, using digital games as a bridge to critical knowledge about social and technological issues.”
