Live InSight: Nanook The Vagabond

On November 28, at 17:30, ETIC_Algarve invites all music lovers to another Live Insight event, a series of intimate concerts with guest artists, where the public has the opportunity to experience music in a unique and close way. This time, the special guest will be Nanook  The Vagabond.

Born on the island of São Miguel, in the Azores, but currently living in Faro, Nanook The Vagabond is the alter ego of Tércio Freire — musician, composer and producer who brings to the stage a unique show.

Described as a true “one man band”, Nanook is able to play up to five instruments simultaneously, although he sometimes performs with a band, creating moments of great emotion and intimacy.

Influenced by artists such as Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, and Tom Waits, Nanook develops his music with a strong social and emotional stamp, exploring themes that range from loss and joy to social issues. In his project “O Vagabundo” (The Vagabond), he shares stories of society and life, leading the audience to reflect and feel in a deeper way. The lyrics, always in Portuguese, carry a “very strong social message,” addressing different perspectives of those who observe the world with a sensitive and critical eye.

On his latest album, “Inquietude” Nanook mixes blues and folk melodies, enriched by the enchanting sound of the harmonica, transporting listeners to introspective and intense soundscapes. This work marks a new phase of his career, with songs that promise to provoke reflection and emotion.
