ETIC_Algarve and L’idem Barcelona develop 3 videogames together

The partnership between ETIC_Algarve and L’Idem Barcelona is already producing results.

During this school year, the graduates of the two schools developed, from scratch, 3 Virtual Reality video games, which began with the joint creation by the graduates of both schools of the script and typology of video games to be produced.

Responsible for the mechanics and programming of the three video games, the 2nd-year students of the Video Games course at ETIC_Algarve integrated all the artistic and visual content created by the students at L’Idem Barcelona, with one of the games being developed specifically for the Metaverse, the 3D world of the founder of Facebook.

Taking advantage of the synergies between the two institutions, it is intended to enhance the training and professional path of its graduates, allowing participation in international project development teams that prepare them for integration into the labor market.

In fact, the work system implemented for the realization of the projects followed the methodologies used by the video game creation and development studios.

For our graduates it was an opportunity to grow technically, but also personally, since they had the opportunity to work in an international team, with constant challenges, which led them to leave the comfort zone for the realization of a common project to two schools.

We are proud to see this joint project featured in Renderout!, magazine, a magazine created by artists for artists, specializing in the world of 3D animation and VFX in Spain, distributed online. You can read the article about this project in the gallery we have shared or access the full edition of the magazine on the Renderout! website.

.

Special mention should be made of the Erasmus Plus program, which enabled the first contact between the two institutions through an exchange in which we welcomed two trainers from L’Idem França and L’Idem Barcelona, leading to the establishment of a more comprehensive partnership.

The development of this partnership has enabled the joint creation of these three video games and, more recently, has allowed ETIC_Algarve Videogame students, in their third or third and fourth years (depending on the candidate’s portfolio) of the Animation 2D-3D y Videogames course to obtain Level 6, equivalent to a bachelor’s degree. Students enrolled in the Communication and Multimedia Design course who are attending the 3rd year of the International Digital Design course can also obtain this higher degree at L’Idem Barcelona.
