Biography
Born in the Algarve in the summer of 1986, Patrício Faísca turned his passion for cinema into a journey of discovery and filmmaking.
His fascination with the seventh art began at an early age, researching behind the scenes of major productions and being dazzled by making-ofs that revealed worlds of possibilities.

In 2001, with the digital revolution, he took his first steps into production, mobilising friends and acquaintances through his strength and vision.
Recognition came with ‘Comando’ (2010), a short film that was born out of a simple test and became a nationwide viral phenomenon, leading to the founding of the production company New Light Pictures in 2012.

Since then he has worked with several nationally acclaimed actors (Diogo Morgado, Marco Horácio, Rui Unas, Vera Kolodzig, Diogo Amaral) and artists (Jimmy P, Valete, DJ Ride).
He was the Production Director and Editor of Diogo Morgado's first film, ‘Malapata’ (2017), and later collaborated in the image department of other projects of his, such as ‘Solum’ (2019), shot in the Azores.

More recently, he produced the short film, ‘Amarrada’ (2023), directed by Pedro Horta and Alexandre Costa (former ETIC_Algarve graduates), symbolising the start of a new creative cycle and reaffirming his commitment to nurturing new talent.

In addition to Cinema, Patrício has diversified his work in the audiovisual field with award-winning advertising productions, demonstrating versatility and adaptability in different formats.

His journey is a testament to how passion and perseverance can turn limitations into creative opportunities, inspiring a new generation of videographers and filmmakers to tell authentic stories regardless of the circumstances.
