How to make a vision become reality

Comprehensive knowledge about the fundamental communication design subjects as well as for the new media: multimedia, web design, video editing, etc.

Provide a wide and complete knowledge about the essential elements for the elaboration of a graphic project.
Expand the acquired technical and aesthetical basics to the new media.

Creation and development of experiences, interfaces and interactive digital content (websites, apps, social media, etc.);

Create solutions with a 3D software, allowing to build simple three dimensional objects.

Editing, post-producing, planning and structuring a video project.

After completing 2 years of this course, you are able to apply for a 3rd curricular “Top Up Year”at Prague College,, in Prague, Czech Republic,or at ETIC in Lisboa, where you can get an Academic Training equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree (Level 6 of the European Qualification Framework).

DESIGN THEORY / VISUAL COMMUNICATION

  • General aspects, history of communication design 
  • Visual Communication: visual perception, codes, symbols and sign
  • Psychology of color. Its applicability in the visual message
  • Typography: type anatomy and families and their typographic adequation 
  • Text arrangement treatment: print vs online

CREATIVE PROCESS AND STRATEGIC THINKING

  • Generate and develop design ideas
  • Develop a creative process
  • Learn and contextualize design contents in space and time
  • Strategic design as a projectual methodology 

COMMUNICATION PROJECT

  • Communication exercise, visual identity drafts 

VECTOR DRAWING

  • Learn about Adobe Illustrator

IMAGE COMPOSITION

  • Learn about Adobe Photoshop

CORPORATE IDENTITY PROJECT

  • Development of a visual identity for a company

PUBLICITY PROJECT

  • Project based visual communication

GRAPHIC PRODUCTION

  • Pre-press, printing and finishing systems

EDITORIAL PROJECT

  • Learn about  Adobe Indesign
  • Editorial communication exercise. Newspaper and Magazine

3D MODELLING

  • Three dimensional modelling with Blender
  • Applying textures. Light
  • Camera and the basics of movement

INTRODUCTION TO PHOTOGRAPHY

  • Mechanisms of a photographic camera
  • Notions of framing and composition. Light and its characteristics

INTRODUCTION TO DIGITAL VIDEO CAPTURING AND INTERACTIVE SCREENPLAY

  • Formats, supports and means. Introduction to the Interactive Screenplay. Image capture means and equipment. Filming exercise. 

AUDIO AND VIDEO EDITING AND POST-PRODUCTION

  • Learning how to edit audio for multimedia 
  • Learning about video editing software: Adobe Premiere
  • Learning about video post-production software: Adobe After Effects. Visual effects. Graphics

AUDIOVISUAL PROJECT 

  • Video capture, editing and post-production exercise

  • Introduction to digital design: Offline vs. Online

Application Process

The applications take place between the months of June and October, until the beginning of the school year and classes, as long as there are vacancies in the courses. 

These can be done after the verification of the admission conditions, upon the payment of the registration and submitting the following documents: 

  • Curriculum vitae / Biography
  • 1 passport photo (digital or printed)
  • Certificate of habilitations 
  • Documents from the Candidate and the Responsible for the payment (National Identification Card + Taxpayer Identification Number + Proof of Address: water, electricity or telephone bills or driving license) 
  • Completing and Signing the application form and the training contract
