How to make a vision become reality

Comprehensive knowledge about the fundamental communication design subjects as well as for the new media: multimedia, web design, video editing, etc.

Provide a wide and complete knowledge about the essential elements for the elaboration of a graphic project.
Expand the acquired technical and aesthetical basics to the new media.

Creation and development of experiences, interfaces and interactive digital content (websites, apps, social media, etc.);

Create solutions with a 3D software, allowing to build simple three dimensional objects.

Editing, post-producing, planning and structuring a video project.

After completing 2 years of this course, you are able to apply for a 3rd curricular “Top Up Year”at Prague City University,, in Prague, Czech Republic,or at ETIC in Lisboa, where you will obtain an Advanced Level Certified Training, which will grant you an equivalence to Level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework.

DESIGN THEORY / VISUAL COMMUNICATION

  • General aspects, history of communication design 
  • Visual Communication: visual perception, codes, symbols and sign
  • Psychology of colour. Its applicability in the visual message
  • Typography: the anatomy of type, typographic suitability and type families 
  • Text arrangement treatment: print vs online

CREATIVE PROCESS AND STRATEGIC THINKING

  • Generate and develop design ideas
  • Develop a creative process
  • Learn and contextualize design contents in space and time
  • Strategic design as a projectual methodology 

COMMUNICATION PROJECT

  • Communication exercise, visual identity drafts 

VECTOR DRAWING

  • Learn about Adobe Illustrator
  • Interconnection with production processes

IMAGE COMPOSITION

  • Learn about Adobe Photoshop

CORPORATE IDENTITY PROJECT

  • Development of a visual identity for a company

PUBLICITY PROJECT

  • Project based visual communication

GRAPHIC PRODUCTION

  • Pre-press, printing and finishing systems

EDITORIAL PROJECT

  • Learn about  Adobe Indesign
  • Editorial communication exercise. Newspaper,  Magazine and e-book

3D MODELLING

  • Three dimensional modelling with Blender

Application Process

The applications take place between the months of March and October, until the beginning of the school year and classes, as long as there are vacancies in the courses. 

These can be done after the verification of the admission conditions, upon the payment of the registration and submitting the following documents: 

  • Curriculum vitae / Biography
  • 1 passport digital photo
  • Qualifications Certificate 
  • Documents from the Candidate and the Responsible for the payment (National Identification Card + Taxpayer Identification Number + Proof of Address: water, electricity or telephone bills or driving license)
